My sister, Katie, and I have always loved having a Sisters’ Night. We are extremely close and this is just one way that we love to put aside some alone time. Or as we like to call it “QT” for “quality time”. When I lived at home, we would have a Sisters’ Night once a week. Now that I have my own home, these nights don’t happen as often as we would like them to. So when I found out that she would be staying at my apartment for the weekend, I knew we had to do something fun!
And that’s where Brunches of Boston came in…
BrunchesofBoston.com, the official website for Brunches of Boston, is a great website that I have recently began using. Brunches of Boston is an organization that focuses on enhancing the brunch culture for people throughout the city and greater area, by providing credible brunch recommendations. Brunches of Boston has become Boston’s largest and most visited brunch specific review database. It allows it’s users to search by location and/or what they are looking to eat, which makes this website incredibly simple to use. According to their “About Us” page, their signature review criteria includes six measurements of brunch experience: breadth of menu, price, food quality, taste, atmosphere and portion size. I have found these reviews so incredibly helpful! Thanks to Brunches of Boston, I have tried new restaurants with delicious brunch foods!
Brunches of Boston does not only provide helpful brunch reviews, they also plan and coordinate brunch events. They do this by combining a local business with a Boston restaurant. My favorite are the Brunch Fit events. Since attending Brunch Fit events, I have been able to try new restaurants and new forms of exercise. I could not be more thankful for these awesome new experiences!
The most recent Brunch Fit event that I attended was at Recycle Studio and Precinct Kitchen + Bar. I was super excited to attend this event because I had never done spin, or eaten at Precinct Kitchen + Bar, before. I love trying new things, especially when it comes to exercising, so I knew that this would be the perfect event for a Sisters’ Day!
I did not know what to expect when attending spin. I only knew that some people say it’s not their thing, while others live and die by it. Let me tell you, after attending a class at Recycle Studio on Newbury Street…I am one of those people who love it!!
First things first, I appreciate that the lights are dimmed (way down) and the music is loud. I mean, that place was bumpin’. Nothing motivates me more than moving to the right beat, and that is exactly what our instructor Alice lead us with-amazing beats paired with a solid work out. I mean, this girl is passionate about her job. During our class, she was upbeat, strong and energetic. She had my sister and I sweating like we never had before. If you are interested in spin, I highly recommend booking a class at Recycle Studio.
After loving my experience with spin class, I went running back to those that said they don’t enjoy spin, and pushed further on the issue. Why not?! It was amazing! Where did you go? What did you do? My findings: they rode stationary the whole time. I could not believe this! Alice barely had us doing that. We were switching gears, pedaling while lifting weights and alternating between squats, push-ups, and other constructive movements. It was amazing to say the least. I know that I will be taking another class there again!
As for Precinct Kitchen + Bar, I had been wanting to go there for months! And I mean months. The atmosphere is just so beautiful, with the white Christmas lights always twinkling over the outdoor space. This restaurant has always caught my eye. So imagine my excitement when I found out that I would finally be brunching there. And let me tell you, my expectations of that restaurant were met. The beautiful atmosphere was only out done by their food. The buffalo tater tots were to die for. The mimosas, amazing. And the Turkey BLT (hold the bacon) was delicious.
All in all, thanks to Brunches of Boston, my sister and I enjoyed an incredible workout and brunch together. It was the perfect Sisters’ Weekend, thanks to that amazing Sisters’ Day. We both left that event with stronger muscles, a fuller belly, new friends, and the intention to do another Brunch Fit event.
