Do you ever see those transformation outfits that girls create from their thrift store finds? They buy these pieces, cut and stitch, and make them look totally different! Well kudos to those thrifty divas, because I can’t sow, though I wish that I could (anyone want to volunteer to teach me?).
For those of you who are like me, and aren’t that crafty, I have a simple thrift tips for you! When thrifting, it helps to look at things differently. For example, the other day I saw this floral vest. But the thing is, it isn’t a floral vest, it’s a button up dress. Instead of wearing it as a dress, I decided to unbutton it and make it into a long vest. There was no cutting or stitching to transform this piece!

Hey, loves! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, and that your week is off to a great start. I was super excited for this past weekend because my boyfriend and I planned a day trip to Santa Barbara! We woke up early, cooked breakfast together, and then packed a picnic for us and our fur baby.
Since the weather was only in the seventies yesterday, I wanted to share with you my beach OOTD! For summer the typical beach look is a cute bathing suit and a fun cover up. But what do you wear when you’re just there to walk along the beach, browse the shops, and munch on delicious seafood? I chose to wear a crop top, comfortable shorts, and a lite weight sweater for our day date. For these California “June gloom” days, it’s important to layer. State Street (one of the main shopping areas in Santa Barbara) can get pretty warm because you’re walking in the sun. But drive ten minutes to the coast and it will get windy real fast. And of course, you can never go wrong with a pair of white Keds. Trust me, if you’re heading to a beach town like Santa Barbara, you do not want to wear sandals. There are so many cute shops, and delicious places to eat, you’ll lose track of time while walking around (like I did), and your feet will be sore from all the exploring. Remember, the goal is to be cute but comfortable.
How do you like to dress for a day date at the beach?
Until next time, thank you for reading!
Happy first day of June, loves! I wanted to keep this post short and sweet, because my last one was all words and no pictures.
If you have been following along with Cute Teachings, than you may have noticed that I am a sucker for accessories. I have loved jewelry, handbags, shoes, and other accessories for as far back as I can remember. So when I got this beautiful maxi dress from Target, I had no idea how I wanted to style it for you. I saw myself wearing my brown gladiator sandals, but I also wanted to wear my black hat. And so I thought, why not take the same dress and style it two different ways for my readers. That way, you can see just how important accessories can be when it comes to completing or transforming an outfit.
Which look do you like best?
Thank you for stopping by!
