What to Wear: Day Date at the Beach

Hey, loves! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend, and that your week is off to a great start. I was super excited for this past weekend because my boyfriend and I planned a day trip to Santa Barbara! We woke up early, cooked breakfast together, and then packed a picnic for us and our fur baby.

Since the weather was only in the seventies yesterday, I wanted to share with you my beach OOTD! For summer the typical beach look is a cute bathing suit and a fun cover up. But what do you wear when you’re just there to walk along the beach, browse the shops, and munch on delicious seafood? I chose to wear a crop top, comfortable shorts, and a lite weight sweater for our day date. For these California “June gloom” days, it’s important to layer. State Street (one of the main shopping areas in Santa Barbara) can get pretty warm because you’re walking in the sun. But drive ten minutes to the coast and it will get windy real fast. And of course, you can never go wrong with a pair of white Keds. Trust me, if you’re heading to a beach town like Santa Barbara, you do not want to wear sandals. There are so many cute shops, and delicious places to eat, you’ll lose track of time while walking around (like I did), and your feet will be sore from all the exploring. Remember, the goal is to be cute but comfortable.

How do you like to dress for a day date at the beach?

Current Obsession: Printed Paints

jogger pants

Hello, everyone! Alejandro and I are back from our wonderful trip to Boston! We were able to be visit because Alejandro graduated from Berklee College of Music this past Saturday! I was so happy that we were able to head back to my home city, and celebrate this amazing accomplishment with our friends and family. But now, we are back at home with our GSD, who we missed very much.

Lately I have been obsessing over pants that have fun prints on them, so I wanted to show you how I like to style them! I also wanted to share a few links to some pants that I like. When wearing pants with fun, funky prints, I like to tone down the outfit by wearing a neutral colored shirt and shoes-like I did here. I am also a huge fan of tucking my shirt in. I tend to lean more towards jogger pants, so this makes my outfit look more clean and pulled together. Then, as always, I love to dress my look up with tons of jewelry! Since I was wearing busy colored pants and a laced top, I chose to only add bracelets to this look.

Coin Necklace

Hi, everyone! I am pleased to announce that I am an ambassador for Ettika Jewelry! This is super exciting for me because they are the first Los Angeles based company that I have collaborated, with since moving! Ettika’s boho-chic jewelry is inspired by the sunny California lifestyle, and is sure to brighten any outfit. Their pieces are stackable, and perfect for the fun-loving, spirited fashionista! When I opened my Ettika packaging, I was beyond happy with the quality of my coin necklace. The design is beautifully crafted and it’s gems sparkle as I move. Lately I have been on a jewelry kick. The more, the better. So I couldn’t wait to pair my new coin necklace with my silver teardrop earrings and bangles.
