One Maxi Dress, Two Different Stylings

Happy first day of June, loves! I wanted to keep this post short and sweet, because my last one was all words and no pictures.

If you have been following along with Cute Teachings, than you may have noticed that I am a sucker for accessories. I have loved jewelry, handbags, shoes, and other accessories for as far back as I can remember. So when I got this beautiful maxi dress from Target, I had no idea how I wanted to style it for you. I saw myself wearing my brown gladiator sandals, but I also wanted to wear my black hat. And so I thought, why not take the same dress and style it two different ways for my readers. That way, you can see just how important accessories can be when it comes to completing or transforming an outfit.

Which look do you like best?

Setting Your Body & Mind Back On Track

Happy Thursday, everyone! We are just one day away from a long weekend, and I could not be more excited to use that time to set my body back on track! Between moving, traveling, and getting settled into a new place, it has been difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle. My boyfriend, Alejandro, and I have not been consistent with eating healthy or exercising regularly. Typically, we both love to eat correctly and workout. It’s amazing when you have a routine, but it can be so hard to get back into it, if you stop.

I wanted to share with you a tool that I am using to help myself get back into the swing of things: my health journal. I started this health journal a couple days ago for a few reasons:

1. To motivate myself into living a healthier lifestyle.

2. To keep track of my progress.

3. To analyze what I am doing correctly, and what I need to work on.

Below is the layout for my health journal:

Today I am grateful for… (I write three things that I am grateful today. I think this is a great idea because it helps me slow down and appreciate the small things in life.)

My goal to live life fit today is…(I write one small goal that I can focus on for the day. I try to make it achievable, like “Drink more water”.)

One thing that I appreciate about my strong bod today is…(I find this to be the hardest part of my journaling. I can be really hard on my body and do not always view it in the best light. But that is why I think this is an important part of my journal. We show never shy away from what is difficult.)

Rate Your Day- Move (I write down any exercises I have done that day. I also write down my daily activity level from my Polar watch.) Nourish (I write down everything that I have eaten, and then rate my energy level from 0-10.) Reflect (I reflect on how I felt that day. Then I give myself a smiley, straight face, or frown face for my general mood for the day.)

Day (To show how many days you have been working on this.)

Quote of the Day (I find a quote from any source that motivates me. It can be about fitness or life in general.)

How does this inspire me? (I write how the above quote inspires me.)

Cups of… Water, Tea, Coffee, and (sometimes) Alcohol (I tally up how many cups of each of these beverages I’ve had.)

Random Thoughts (I write down any random thoughts that I may have that aren’t included in any of the above sections.)

I am trying very hard to get back into a healthy lifestyle. My health journal really helps me achieve my goals and stay connected to my body and mind. If you need motivation I hope that this inspires you to start your own health journal. You can use some, all, or none of these categories. It’s all about what works for you.

~Please feel free to reach out with any comments or questions!~

Until next time, thank you so much for reading!
